“You know, I didn’t always love Zuko. Actually, up until I turned 6, I hated him. He was always so serious and constantly scolded me for ‘acting frivolous.’” - Maiko

“So what made you decided you loved him?” -Katara

“Well, it happened 8 years ago.”
~~~
6-year-old Maiko was being dragged toward the Fire Palace for a playdate with her fiancé, the Crown Prince Zuko. “But Mommy! I don’t wanna play with Zuko! He’s mean!”
Her mother sighed experatedly. “Sometimes, we have to do things we don’t want to for the greater good, Sweetie.”
“But why?”
She sighed again and turned swiftly toward her daughter. “Just try to get along with Prince Zuko today, all right?”
Little Maiko gave in. “Ok Mommy.” She ran out into the garden to attempt at making nice with her much aggravating playmate.
Prince Zuko watched with dread as Maiko came running toward him. “Why must I be forced to play with her, Uncle? I should be perfecting my firebending or training to become the next Firelord. Not playing with a silly little girl!”
“Now, Prince Zuko, you should be nicer to Lady Maiko. You might end up stuck with her for the rest of your life.”
Zuko groaned disgustedly. He stared as she slowly made her way up toward him. He sneered when she waved energetically at him. In a last minute decision, he began running off in the opposite direction.
Behind him, Maiko frowned. She hadn’t really wanted to play ‘Chase’. “Zuko! Wait for me!” She gathered up her skirt and ran faster to catch up with the runaway prince.
Zuko briefly looked over his shoulder to Maiko surely gaining on him. He gave his body a shove and begun sprinting.
The insides of Maiko’s shoes contracted and pinched the bottom of her feet until she could feel blisters starting to form. Her chest was heaving and her lungs burned like she had just swallowed a bunch of hot coals. Her leg muscles tightened and threatened to lock up. “Zuko! Please… stop! I… can’t… run that fast!”
Zuko ignored her cries and ran faster, laughing. In the distant, he heard a loud thud and Maiko’s anguished cries. He halted on the spot and whirled around. “Maiko?”
She laid face down in the dirt, crying and coughing uncontrollable. Zuko knelt down beside her and patted her on the back in a meager attempt to calm her. Her cough became increasingly volatile as she started hyperventilating. She started gagging from a lack of oxygen. Her lungs ached for air, sending pain coursing through her body, causing her to cry harder. Zuko watched this display worriedly. He hugged her. “I’m sorry, Maiko. I should have stopped.” Her crying ceased and she regained control over her breathing.
“I… I can’t feel my ankle.” She said, trying to hold back the new onslot of tears that insisted upon coming. Zuko examined her ankle. A thorn vine had tangled up around it. Carefully, he peeled the vine off her skin. She winced in pain as the thorns tore bits of her skin.
Zuko ran his finger over the wounds. He tore a strip of fabric off his shirt. He started bandaging the ankle. “This is all my fault. I’m sorry.” He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her ankle. She flushed a deep red.
I personally feel that blogging was pretty cool. It was also interesting. Blogging help people express their feelings better. The reason for that is because they don't have to give their real names or information out. I really don't have any deep secrets, so it didn't do much for me. But on other people behave they may have felt that this was really helpful.
Something I like about blogging is that you could get responses back from other bloggers. That's really exciting to me. But overall, I really enjoy blogging.
Christmas break is coming up and I can't wait. On friday 16, 2005 my mother and I will be going to the mall to go shopping for Christmas gifes. The break is just a week away and it's coming fast. But after the break I wouldn't be bake because I am going to have my baby on January 16, 2006. I can't wait tell that day come because after I have him, I have to be out of school for 6 weeks. My mother is so happy to be a grandmother.
Thought of the day
why do people fight at school?
i think that fighting at school is so stupid. when you fight at school you out yourself in the position to be humiliated get embarrased and on top of all that you get in alot of trouble. since i have been going to this school i have seen alot of in school fights and out of school fights. with in school fights the people get in alot of trouble for like 17 seconds worth of fighting. Then there are the out of school fights the people fight for as long as needed they don't get in trouble and everyones happy. so where would you fight.
I think that blogging is a great way to express your self. I think that every class should blog because teens, be having alot on there mind. This is geat way to let it all out. As long as you don't get all personal with, like saying things that you are not suppose to be saying. You can also meet new people on line from blogging if they go onto your blog and read.
After high school I plan on going straight to college.Well, I plan on taking the summer off and just chill for that little minute. Once the fall come, I hope to be in Deakonis, which is a school of nursing. That's if I get accepted in there. If that don't work out, I'll go to a community college. Anyway, I plan on being a 4 year nurse. After that I want to afford a big house and a nice car. So that's how I plan for my future to be.
You never know how annoying a person is until they stay with you. Staying together can turn best friends into enemies. Everyone needs their time apart. My best friend came to stay with me for a few days and I hated it. I mean I love my best friend but we never need to stay together again because we both like to do things our on way. So before thinking of letting someone stay with you permanetly you should test it out for a few days first.
Blogging has personally been a good experience for me. It gives students a chance to write what they think without having to use paper and pen. Most students prefer to type than to write stuff down by hand anyway. Also it teaches students to write about and evaluate subjects. Blogging also gives students a chance to be more active with the classroom computers since few classes actually have a class set.
Casualties of War. Ah... my beloved Harry Potter fanfic. My masterpiece. It has just about reached its peak and should be written very soon. *Contented sigh* However, it managed to create two different endings for itself. One, I was pushed and mantipulated by my dear friend into writing. It had the makings of a great trashy romance novel, albiet dark. The other, was my brain child and will be the official ending. My main character developes schizophrenia and a case of fugue. She's never heard from again.
Anywho, this is the alternate ending and thus sort of a spoiler, but I doubt any of you will ever read the completed verison.
*Alternate Ending*
As everyone hurried to their seats, the black double doors opened one last time. He lifted his head in hopes that it was her; that she would keep her promise. His hopes were dashed when the one to stroll in was none other than his cousin. Her usual ponytail was knotted up in an elegant bun. Her casual clothes traded for a dark, solemn robe. Despite, all that had happened, she appeared to still have most of her sanity. In spite of the atrosities of her crimes, she was left unpunished simply because her enemies had also been the Ministery's enemies.His heart fell. He had not wanted his merciless cousin. He wanted her.
Willow stood, holding the door as a second figure entered. Her hair had once again changed from the vibrant yellow he had known in school; from the grungy dull yellow he had grown to love. Now, it was its natural color of black with one dyed streak of blue in the front. She looked relatively healthier than the last time he had seen her, for that he was glad.
Her dark eyes met his and his heart leapt. A sad, tired smile played on her lips, but he couldn't have been happier. If it were not for the fact he was chained down he would have leapt up and ran to her. He would have embraced her tightly, stroked her hair, and whispered words of comfort sweetly in her ear.
... Wow, this is horrible. I can't write anymore. It's making me sick. Plus, it is taking way too long to get to the point. So... screw it.
Next week I'm going to be pretty excited. Next Friday will be my last day up in this class. Overall, I did enjoy this class. Well, to be honest, when I first started this class I thought that it was going to be hard. That made me want to exchange my class with something else. But I grew to really like this class. I've learned so much. I wish to take a class similar to this one next semester. I'm really going to miss this class.
I am soooo tired of school. Once upon a time so very long ago school was fun. Now it is just a drag. I think it's not school in general but just Hazelwood East. We have the education just not the fun part that makes you want to learn. The days just seem so long now. It's so easy to just stay home and sleep but then my future is going to slowly slide down the drain. I am really starting to hate school.
More and more we see technology used in the school atmosphere. Now days teachers use computers for power-points, students use them for presentations, internet is used for class assignments, and television channels are used for school publication and access. I think that technology being used in schools is a great thing. It offers many opportunities for students to learn more about the world around them and really get great information. It allows more public access to things that may be far away and will never get to actually get to experience. This is most definitely and advancement in education.
I heard that people disagree with the use of blogs (there was an article, but now I can't find it), fearing it causes stalking and such. My response is simple: Don't Neglect Websafety. A stranger on the internet is no less a threat than a stranger in real life. So, making sure your children know basic websafety rules and don't give out information that can be used to track them on the internet. And that's that.
Pink as a pig
Rough like a cashmere sweater
Tough around the edges
Golden as gold
It's fairly obvious I'm making this up as I go.
The goat stood upon his heels
And started to tap dance.
The shepherd passed out from shock.
His flock stepped out for their evening tea.
One more stanza should just about do it.
Bam! It's over.
Like the stupid goat's dance recital.
I needed at least
Three figures of speech.
How did I do?
This particular article was about students being banned from blogging. I feel that it isn't fair to the ones who know how far to go on blogging. Yes, it is pretty dangerous because you could put too much information on your blog. Someone could then track you down somehow and do anything. The reason that I feel that they shouldn't ban the students from blogging is becuase I feel that it is the teacher's responsibility to tell them all how far they could go on blogging. So, that's how I feel about this whole situation.
Hurricane Katrina was so ugly
Thousands of people lost their homes and mind
People was dieing all over the street
The sun was a chariot of fire
No food are clothing to put on their backs
People was no longer independent
They came together to help each other
They sat outside for many days to come
The wind was one hundred miles per hour
It hit them like Crack, Splash, or Bow-Wow
They had no money are no place to go
You had to look hard to find a place to sleep
Bobies was dieing cause they had no milk
When you look around everything was gone
The town was nothing but one big lake
"The river running round the rock"
I am just happy that I wasn't there.
"Crack" was what I heard
Because the sun was a chariot of fire
I was so hot, I could have melted
"Splash" is what I heard in the water
Most animals tried to hide from the sun under the water
Everything looked perfect outside from the inside
The river was running the water the rocks
My bow-wow laid under the trees for air
It seemed that nothing can make it go away
What's weird is that if you looked on the ground it would look wet
But I knew that it was nothing but the heat
The chariot of fire seemed to have gotten worse by the minute
I brought my dog inside and cut the fan and television on
There was breaking news at the bottom of the screen
That's when I realized that there was a heat wave out-doors
Today I plan on going to the mall once I get home from school. Then when I get there I 'll head straight to Subway. From there, I'll go to American Eagle and Famous. Once I get done shopping, I'm going to go home and do my homework. After that I'm going to eat something, and then head to sleep afterwards. So, that 's what I plan on doing today.
I can't wait when the day come and I get out of school and go to collage to become a nurse(RN). I am looking to that day because my mother is an nurse and she make good money. I just love to think about the day when I can go out and make some good money by helping people. My mother would always tell me, "If you help out others, good things would always come to you". And I love my mother for telling me that, because it really open my eyes about life. I don't know what collage I wont to go to , but when I do it would be fun. I just can't wait.
